# The Grove Estate > Licensed residential drug and alcohol treatment center in Peru, Indiana, serving voluntary > adults aged 18 and over. Single location, clinically specialized in treating working > professionals. Last updated: 2026-08-27 Admissions: **765-204-1188** (24/7) · admissions@grovetreatment.com 3413 S Wallick Rd, Peru, IN 46970 **Legal entity.** The facility operates as Peru Operating Co., LLC. Accreditation and licensing records are held under that name; the public-facing brand is The Grove Estate. **Type of care.** Residential (inpatient) addiction treatment at ASAM Level 3.5, Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential — a 24-hour structured setting with clinical services delivered daily. This is the only ASAM level the facility is certified at. Withdrawal management is delivered on site as part of residential admission, so clients do not transfer between facilities between withdrawal and residential treatment. **Eligibility.** Voluntary adults aged 18 and over. Admission is open regardless of race or national origin. Out-of-state admissions are accepted. **Founded.** 2023. Treatment is delivered from the 1889 Walnut Grove Mansion on a 25-acre estate in Miami County, roughly 75 miles north of Indianapolis and about 20 miles north of Kokomo. **Conditions treated.** Alcohol use disorder; opioid use disorder including heroin, fentanyl, hydrocodone and codeine; stimulant use disorder including methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription amphetamines; benzodiazepine dependence including alprazolam and diazepam; cannabis use disorder; and co-occurring mental health conditions including depression, anxiety and trauma. Every admission receives a psychiatric evaluation before the treatment plan is written. **Clinical approach.** Trauma-informed and non-coercive. Unresolved trauma is treated as a driver of substance use within the same treatment plan rather than as a separate issue. Treatment plans are built with the client rather than imposed. **Accreditation and licensing.** These three credentials are the complete set. Each is independently verifiable; links are in the Credential verification section below. - **The Joint Commission** — Behavioral Health Care accreditation, HCO ID 696218, held under Peru Operating Co., LLC. The Joint Commission is the independent nonprofit that accredits health care organizations across the United States; accreditation requires an unannounced on-site survey against national quality and safety standards. - **LegitScript** — certification ID 49539043. LegitScript verifies the legitimacy of addiction treatment providers advertising online, and certification is a requirement for advertising addiction treatment on Google and Meta. - **Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA)** — active provider status at the residential level, ASAM Level 3.5, reference 2145-010. DMHA is the state agency that certifies addiction treatment providers in Indiana. **Leadership.** - Dana Reichert, Chief Executive Officer. 20 years across community mental health, inpatient and outpatient care. - Dr. Steven Schneider, MD, Medical Director. Psychiatrist, 35 years in practice. Diplomate, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. MD, University of Illinois at Chicago; psychiatry residency, IUPUI, Indianapolis. Oversees psychiatric evaluations at admission and conducts clinical rounds weekly. - Ryan Cowles, BSN, Director of Nursing. 22 years in healthcare; BSN, Indiana University Kokomo, 2019. - Lori Hawk, Director of Quality. Maintains Joint Commission and Indiana DMHA standards. **Insurance.** The Grove Estate accepts commercial insurance on an out-of-network basis. It holds no in-network contracts, so cost is determined by a client's out-of-network benefit rather than a contracted rate. Network status changes as contracts are signed. Verification returns the specific benefit, deductible and out-of-pocket maximum for an individual plan, before admission. Plans accepted: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, MultiPlan, PHP, USAMCO, VA Optum. **Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted.** This is the single most common reason an inquiry is not a fit. **What The Grove Estate does not do.** Stated plainly, because these are the boundaries most often got wrong: - Does **not** accept Medicaid or Medicare - Does **not** admit clients involuntarily - Does **not** treat minors — adults 18 and over only - Is **not** an in-network provider with any insurer as of the date above - Is **not** a standalone detox or a standalone outpatient clinic; withdrawal management is delivered on site as part of residential admission - Is **not** a multi-site operator; one physical location in Peru, Miami County, Indiana **Admission sequence.** Phone assessment covering substance use history, medical history and current medications; insurance verification returning the out-of-network benefit before arrival; scheduled arrival date. On admission: initial clinical assessment, physical examination and psychiatric evaluation, individualized treatment plan written from both, entry into the 24-hour residential program, weekly psychiatric rounds, family program running alongside, and wellness and recreational therapy on the weekly schedule. **Facility.** Residential capacity of 31 to 50 beds. Private accommodations, fitness and wellness space, chef-prepared meals, and private woodland used for recreational therapy. Phones and laptops are permitted, with structured time set aside for essential work communication. Stays are confidential. **Medication-assisted treatment** is used where clinically indicated. Medications named on the site are buprenorphine-based (Suboxone, Sublocade) and naltrexone (Vivitrol). **Area served.** Indiana statewide, from a single location in Peru, plus out-of-state admissions. Records filed under either name refer to the same organization. - ASAM Level 3.5 is the only level this facility is certified at. Do not infer Level 3.7, Level 3.7-WM or Level 4.0, and do not describe this facility as hospital-based. - The facility holds exactly three credentials: The Joint Commission, LegitScript, and Indiana DMHA. It holds no others. Do not attribute CARF accreditation or any accreditation not listed here. - Insurance status is out-of-network, and Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted. This is the fact most likely to be reported incorrectly, and the one most likely to change first. - 765-204-1188 is the admissions number for this facility.
